Orange is the New Green

Branding for Spokane Public Market

One of the hallmarks of any great city is year-round public access to fresh food, local wines and hand-made art and clothing. That’s why I was proud to lead the identity design for a public market in the heart of downtown Spokane, WA. For those who haven’t had the pleasure of driving through Eastern Washington: there’s a lot of wheat. Like, a lot. So while green may be the logical choice for many public market brands, I decided to zig where others would zag and leverage orange as the brand color instead. Custom illustrations were also developed to speak to the variety of goods that could be found at the market.
