Social media contest for Hoopfest
Spokane Hoopfest is the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world and they wanted a 25th anniversary celebration to match. So we created a social media contest in which users completed a variety of basketball-related tasks (like filming yourself dunking over your dad #PosterizePops). By sharing the results online, contestants were awarded with cash, swag, and a hundred cheesy basketball puns. My job was to figure out how the contest worked and develop an over-arching style that suited the inherently cornball nature of the contest.

The developers and I came up with a site flow from registration to task completion. Once the user journey had been established, I dove in to the fun stuff: exploring the identity and style tiles.
The user experience was simple but engaging. We give you a task. You complete it. We give you points. The tougher the task, the more points awarded. And the contestant with the most points at the end of Hoopfest weekend scored the grand cash prize. Fortune favored the quick: those going HAM on Instagram were the first to jump on new tasks when they appeared.
